Merge Canada student loan documents in three steps: gather what your request needs, put the files in order, and combine them into one PDF with the tool below. For the Repayment Assistance Plan, that is your application and proof of income if you are asked for it. While you study, it is your Confirmation of Enrolment. For loan forgiveness, it is the application and signed Employment Attestation forms. To update your details, it is any document the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) asks for. Your files never leave your device.
Last reviewed: October 2026. This page is about organizing documents only. For questions about your loan, contact the National Student Loans Service Centre or your provincial student aid office.

Most NSLSC requests are easier with one tidy PDF. Everything below runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded to us.
Drop your PDFs in the box above, or use Merge PDF. Drag them into order, then merge them into one file.
If the file is too big for the upload page, make it smaller with Compress PDF. Start with High Quality and check that the text is still easy to read.
If a bank statement is locked with a password you know, remove it first with Remove PDF Password. Locked PDFs cannot be merged.
File size and file types: we could not confirm an official NSLSC file size limit or list of accepted file types, so check the upload page in your NSLSC account before you upload.
Quebec, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut run their own student aid programs and do not take part in Canada Student Loans (Government of Canada). If you are from one of these places, the documents you need come from your own program: Quebec student financial assistance, Northwest Territories Student Financial Assistance or Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students (FANS).
If your payments are too high for your income, the Repayment Assistance Plan can lower them, sometimes to $0. Here is what the official sources say to gather.
Apply online in your NSLSC account, or fill out the official Repayment Assistance Plan Application form. You give your family income and the number of people in your family.
You may be asked to prove all the income you reported. Send photocopies and keep the originals. Family income means your income plus your spouse’s or common-law partner’s income.
If you are self-employed, a monthly business bank statement, a letter from your financial institution, or a letter signed by an accountant is accepted.
Only if your family income was $0 in a month on your last application and you cannot prove it. Use the official Zero Income Self-Attestation form.
The Repayment Assistance Plan lasts 6 months at a time, so you must re-apply every 6 months to keep it. In Ontario, one application covers both the federal and the Ontario parts of your loan (Ontario: Pay back OSAP). Source: Canada.ca Repayment Assistance Plan.
Your loans stay interest-free and payment-free while you study full-time, but only if your enrolment is confirmed.
Confirm your enrolment every term you study. This keeps your loans interest-free and payment-free while you are in school. You can confirm in your NSLSC account.
If you use the paper Confirmation of Enrolment (Schedule 2) form, your school fills it in. It is valid for only 30 days after it is signed, and it must reach the NSLSC before your study period ends.
Source: NSLSC: In Study. In some provinces, your school confirms your enrolment for you. For example, in Ontario your school confirms it before you get your OSAP money (Ontario: After you apply for OSAP).
Some workers in eligible rural or remote communities can have part of their federal loan forgiven. Forgiveness applies only to the federal part of your loan, not the provincial or territorial part. The amounts and jobs are on the Canada Student Loan Calculator page and the official forgiveness page.
Apply online through your NSLSC account, or by mail using the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness Application and Employment Attestation forms. Borrowers in a newly eligible occupation who applied before March 16, 2026 had to apply by mail. See the official application form. You have 90 days to apply after you finish a year of service in an eligible community.
Your Employment Attestation must cover the full 12 months in a row. Your employer or supervisor fills in your start and end dates and your hours. If you are self-employed, a third party confirms your hours.
Signatures: follow the signature instructions on the forms themselves. If you apply by mail, send the application and all attestation forms together. Keep a merged PDF of your forms for your own records. Sources: Canada.ca Canada Student Loan Forgiveness (eligibility and how to apply).
Keep your details up to date so you do not miss letters, payments or deadlines.
Tell the NSLSC promptly if your name, address, contact information, family status, financial situation or full-time student status changes.

If the NSLSC asks for a document, upload it in My Requests. Do not email personal information such as your Social Insurance Number or bank details to the NSLSC.
