How to convert PDF to JPG on Android has one simple free answer: open our free PDF to JPG tool in Chrome, choose your PDF and tap Convert to Images, and each page you choose downloads as its own JPG. It runs in your browser, so there is no app to install and your PDF stays on your phone. Android has no built-in way to convert a PDF to JPG. The closest built-in option is to open the PDF and take a screenshot of the page.

This guide covers only Android. For other devices, see the main guide: how to convert PDF to JPG.

Method 1: PDF to JPG in Chrome (Simplest)

This works in Chrome and other browsers on Android phones and tablets. Your PDF is turned into images by your browser on your own phone. It is not sent to a server.

  1. Open rapidtools.online/pdf-to-jpg in Chrome. No account is needed.
  2. Tap the box and choose your PDF from Files, Downloads or Google Drive. The first 3 pages show as a preview.
  3. Under Output Format, choose JPG for smaller files or PNG for better quality.
  4. Under Image Quality, choose Low, Medium (the default) or High.
  5. Under Page Range, choose All Pages, Specific Range (for example 1-5) or Single Page.
  6. Tap Convert to Images. Each page downloads as its own file, named like report_page_1.jpg, usually into your Downloads folder.
Many pages at once? Each page is a separate download, not a ZIP file. If Chrome asks whether to allow several downloads, tap Allow.

What the tool does

  • Each page is drawn at twice its normal size, so text stays clear in the image.
  • A specific range is one block of pages, such as 3-7. For pages that are not next to each other, run it again with another range.

Method 2: Take a Screenshot (Built In)

Android has no button that turns a PDF into a JPG. If you only need one page as a picture, you can open the PDF and take a screenshot.

  1. Open the PDF, for example in the Files by Google app (Google help).
  2. Zoom so the whole page fits on the screen.
  3. Press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time (Android Help: take a screenshot).
  4. Crop the screenshot to the page if you need to.

The limits: a screenshot is only as sharp as your screen, so small text can be hard to read, and you have to do one page at a time. For clear images of many pages, use the browser tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

They download like any other file, usually into your Downloads folder. Each page is a separate file named after your PDF, such as report_page_1.jpg.
